Genre50's Rockabilly / R'n'R

Yksityiskohdat

DigiPac (4-sided) with 52-page booklet, 35 tracks, playing time approx. 75:36 minutes.
35 classic 1950s and early ‘60s rockers from RCA Victor’s mammoth vaults
Many tracks never before on CD
Rarities include sides by Ray Griff, Tam Duffill, and The Nite Rockers
52-page booklet with extensive liner notes by Bill Dahl, rare photos, and full discographical information
RCA Victor was so inexorably connected with Elvis from 1956 on that the rest of its massive rock and roll talent roster sometimes gets overlooked. This second edition of Bear Family’s ‘That’ll Flat Git It’ series with recordings from the RCA vaults rectifies that injustice mightily, sporting savage rockers from the wildest men and women in RCA’s stable.  Quite a few of them - Ric Cartey, Roy Orbison, Gordon Terry, Dave Rich, Marlin Greene, The Morgan Twins, rockabilly queen Janis Martin - did their recording under Chet Atkins’ production aegis in Nashville. But just as many - Joe Clay, Lee Denson, David Houston, Sammy Salvo, David Hill, Jean Chapel, David Houston, Jimmy Dell - waxed their RCA classics elsewhere. Victor steered veteran country acts Pee Wee King, Autry Inman, Terry Fell, Anita Carter, Benny Martin, and Bill Carlisle, into the exciting new rockabilly sub-genre as well. They’re all aboard this sparkling compilation, which cuts loose with blistering intensity from first track to last!
