Gerry & The Pacemakers were the first ever act to have their first three singles go to No.1 in the UK charts, an feat not repeated until Frankie Goes To Hollywood in the 1980s. Managed by Brian Epstein, they followed their stablemates The Beatles across the Atlantic and broke into the American charts with their Top 10 single Don t Let The Sun Catch You Crying . Their career was brief, running from just 1963 to 1966, but it was packed with hits that have become synonymous with the sixties. This retrospective programme features full length performances of all their hits alongside new interviews with Gerry Marsden and legendary Mersey Beat journalist Bill Harry.
